And, o wow...

The New Haven Review's list of the best nonfiction writers under 40 here. One imagines part of the point of publishing a list like this is to invite dissension... this is the Internet after all. I do like many of these people whose work I know. At least a few essayists included...

  1. I am always entertained by these lists, even though I think they're more or less ridiculous.

    In any case, I like all the writers I'm familiar with, so for once I don't need to go off on a contrarian rant. So that's something.

  2. It makes me happy to read that "nonfiction is vital right now" [NHR], though I wouldn't say now. I would say always. It further makes me happy to see the gauntlet thrown to the New Yorker. However: what does age have to do with anything?
