Advent Approaches

Howdy Essay Comrades,

We're nearing the end of 2025, which means it is time for the annual Essay Daily Advent Calendar (the only time of year we actually post daily). This year's Advent Calendar has a theme: the Essay Daily Media Club. We're taking a visit over to the land of visual media and publishing pieces which essay, explore, feel out, marvel at, interrogate, talk back to, reflect on, or hybridize films, TV, video games, or visual art (we're keeping a little distance from traditional music videos for this one, since that's more the terrain of March Xness, but we welcome other types of video art and animation).

Reach out to Will or Ander (emails over to the right) if you're interested in pitching us an essay for Advent this year. Otherwise we'll see you on December 1st for the start of the calendar!
